Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can AMMO or HEALTH POINTS exceed the starting value?
A: No.

Q: Can I choose to defend normally, instead of using the REINFORCED ARMOR shield device once it is activated?
A: No, once activated, the first hits received [HIT results] must be defended using REINFORCED ARMOR SHIELD tokens.

Q: When a card says: "Suffer 1 wound", can the damage be defended or avoided?
A: No, it is direct damage and cannot be defended or avoided.

Q: What happens when the XENO-BEAST goes into rage?
A: The player controlling the "XENO-BEAST" ALIEN card discards it with all inflicted wounds and takes the "ENRAGED XENO-BEAST" ALIEN card [with full health!].

Q: Can an agent fire with a ranged weapon around a corner if his line of sight [L.O.S.] is drawn diagonally between an HEX that blocks line of sight?
A: No, the L.O.S. must be clear. So, no BLOCKING HEXes between the shooter and his target.

Q: What happens if the BIOTECH receives one HIT and his defense die shows a BOLT result?
A: The BOLT effect of the BIOTECH armor is applied first, so the armor heals 1 HEALTH POINT [if it is possible] and then the wound is inflicted.

Q: Can a STUNNED Alien be moved with the XENO-ALPHA LEADER ability effect?
A: Yes.

Q: About the Alien cards, How does the "Attack twice" A.I. rule works?
A: Perform the first attack as normal. Then, perform the second one against the same target [if it is still alive], otherwise the attack may be performed against another legal target at the same distance, if any exist.

Q: Can a XENO-GREY be activated by another XENO-GREY?
A: No, a XENO-GREY cannot be activated by another XENO-GREY and cannot be targeted by the "Save The Master" power.

Q: CAN ALIENS ENGAGE A DRONE IN COMBAT?
A: NO, DRONES, LIKE ALIENS, CANNOT BE ENGAGED AND MAY DISENGAGE FROM MELEE WITHOUT AN EVADE TEST.

Q: What happens when an Alien or Signal has no legal walking path toward the Agents?
A: The Alien/Signal maintains their position.

Q: Blue and Red ARMOURY tokens, how do they work?
A: When any agent reaches the token (by moving over it), it is immediately discarded. In the next Reinforcement phase, the GD squad receives a new random Improved/Alien Weapon.

Q: May a token [like Flame, Signal, or Teleport Point] block the Line of Sight?
A: No, Only Maps and Maps Overlay can block the Line of Sight.

TRICKS and TIPS
Q: To make gameplay faster and/or make a mission easier to accomplish?
A: You may remove one Close Encounter #1 card from EACH mission in the Galaxy Defenders Core Set Storybook. Experienced players may use the missions as written.

Q: Mission 5 Warning:
Inexperienced players may find Mission 5 of the Storybook too hard or excessively long to accomplish. In this case, you may play the short version shown in the Utility/Missions section.

Q: Replacing Weapons
You may replace a "Limited Ammo Weapon" with any other suitable weapon. You can also only replace an "Infinity Ammo Weapon" with another "Infinity Ammo Weapon." This rule insures your agent will always be able to deal some damage (except for the Biotech, but its role is different), BUT we know at some point, expert players want more, so there is nothing to stop you from changing this rule as you prefer...

Page 27, Section 7.7.4.1, GD-209: The image erroneously reports a Green dice icon instead of the Red one.

STORYBOOK:
Page 52, Mission 12: Alien Cards and Miniatures, ignore the "Kept Aside" icon for both Xeno-Beta and Spine Critter, only the Xeno-Alpha must be kept aside at the beginning of the Mission.

XENO-HUNTER KS AGENT:
The Xeno-Hunter Agent Profile Sheet erroneously reports the ?Fist Blade? weapon as a Ranged Weapon. It is considered a Melee Weapon.

The GEEK DEPARTMENT and WINGS OF GLORY Devices:
Both devices are considered Passive Devices because they do not require an Action to use. Discard them once used.

IRON KS AGENT:
Its innate ability requires a Trap token to keep track of the trap when placed on the map. To substitute the missing token, you may: Use a JAM or Mine token instead OR Download and print the Trap token here [LINK]. With apologies, the Trap token will be inserted in the next GD Expansion.
